Northwestern University or UMich Ross

Accepting into both and looking to enter IB or PE, oos for UMich so Northwestern will be ~30k more over four years. Which school is the better option?

For me, weather, school spirit, environment, etc. is not a concern just curious about the opportunities.

Yes, I also made a similar decision (took Duke/UChicago over Ross/Stern) and have not regretted it one bit.

Pros of NW over Michigan:

  • People automatically assume that you’re smart if you’re at a Duke/UChi/NW level school
  • Much less competition - helps a ton for recruiting. Also higher % of elite buyside job opportunities (that tend to want prestige) available.
  • Better for buyside recruiting post-IB
  • If you’re not interested in finance, can easily do consulting / startup / grad school / whatever

I don’t even know what the cons are besides the higher cost. Maybe Northwestern is less fun? Idk lol

I'm an NU student, and I completely agree with what the other dude said. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the recruiting scene here (or about Northwestern in general).
