NYU Stern Essay Help
Hello all,
Can someone be gracious enough in helping me write my NYU writing supplement for Stern Undergrad?
How should I go about structuring the essay to convey that I have plenty of experience in Econ and Finance through internships, and want to pursue that at Stern?
What specific aspects of NYU Stern should I highlight that separates Stern from other schools?

If you can't do this on your own, how could you possibly survive at Stern or be taken seriously by admissions?
I kind of agree with ib_457. However, Stern is in NYC. Obviously, that is something you want to note as NYC is the financial capital of the world. I personally in my transfer app to NYU law talked shit about Columbia. That's your decision. (In a professional way though) I can't tell you anything about how to structure your internships in finance because I don't know which ones you have had. I am also a bit confused since you said Stern Undergrad. I feel like you having these internships doesn't really correspond to what you're saying. Are you at NYU but just not in their business program?
No, I am a high school student, rising senior, but I currently have internships at a tech startup, insurance firm, and a consulting firm in my hometown. But I really want to attend NYU Stern Undergrad, and just wanted to know what separates it from other schools of its stature like wharton.
I fully agree with your statement, but I have been able to find very little on Stern that separates it from other top notch schools other than its location.
Then why are you applying to it? It seems you are aiming to apply ED, if so, again why apply ED if you know nothing about the school and you are struggling on the "Why Stern" question? There is loads and loads of info on Stern, not only on here, but on the entire internet. Do some research, figure out why it would be a good fit for you and you a good fit for it, and reevaluate your choices. People won't be doing things for you, especially because you don't want to take the time to do the proper research.
Look at the Why Stern? page on its website and connect your internship to what they have noted as important and your major. Do this in a nonobvious way. Example: Don't say location is important to me so I want to be in New York. Just say New York is the financial capital of the world, and NYU is in a prime spot for that as well as everything else New York has to offer. Realistically, you'll need the stats to get in though. High sat/gpa.
I know what you're problem is. You're having writer's block and you're unsure of how to even start your essay now that your writing will be scrutinized not by lazy ass high school English teachers, but by admissions officers who might be paying a little closer attention to what you write. I'll tell you something: those admissions officers are not looking for virtuoso writing skills. Just feed them what they want: you want to be in finance/economics (not sure of your exact plans), Stern is an awesome place from me to achieve my goals because of so and so reasons (as the above posters mentioned, scan through the Stern website and find some unique attractions/aspects of it that you put in your paper), and so on and so forth. Most importantly, be honest, be earnest, and be yourself. If you truly care about wanting to go to NYU, you can't help but write a great essay.
