NYU Stern v. NYU CAS Econ (Undergrad)

Hi guys, I'm applying to NYU for fall 2022 entry and intend to get into finance. I know that Stern gives me an advantage over NYU CAS in pretty much every possible sense to establish my future, but does that mean I won't be able to get anywhere with a simple econ major in CAS ?

For context I'm an international student, and therefore the STEM designation of the econ major at CAS is imperative for me to be able to stick around in the US on OPT, while the program at Stern doesn't offer me the same opportunity. So I'm just trying to figure out if econ is really as bad as some people say, or if I can get onto Wall Street with a decent package provided I put in the extra effort.

Based on this I will end up choosing which of the two to apply for, although I am leaning towards econ at the moment.

Thanks in advance!
