Hi all, I'd appreciate a bit of guidance on this. Looking at the next career step, and thinking of possibly pursuing a PhD in economics to do that.
Currently based in New Zealand, would love to move to the States. Partner is a U.S Citizen so no worries re: work rights, but I'm just wanting to gauge how my qualifications and experience would be received. Looking at economist roles in NYC most have PhD either 'required' or 'preferred'. How competitive is this? E.g if I did a PhD at Victoria University, Wellington (rank 241 in QS 2024 university rankings) in an area relevant to the job would they throw my CV out immediately? Or would it be competitive?
