Hey Guys -

I am an average student , hardworker. I am definetly not the top 10 business school types. Here is my profile.

- 31 years old. with average GPA. A Bachelors degree in electrical engg and Masters degree in Information Technology.
- I am capable of getting over 700 in the GMAT.
- I have done some work with Habitat for humanity and feel like I am a well rounded person.
- I have worked for a startup (one man IT department) for 2 yrs before it was sold to a multinational.
- I have worked for 5 years now with a 1500 person private company. Rising from a systems engineer to IT manager.
- I manage about 4 people right now.
- I can get good recos from accomplished ceo's in my previous two companies.
- I recently look the CFA®
level 2 exam , dont expect to pass but I will give it another shot next june.

My problem is I think I am not able to leave my job and go to buisness school atleast for the next 2 or 3 yrs, (many reasons , immigration status and wife's going to dental school$$) thats why I took up the CFA®
and passed level1 , to do something with finance in my life.

I want a career in private equity , vc , CF or another field in finance. I feel like i am fighting a losing battle with life though. What would you guys suggest I do ? I am worried I will end up being 35 before I can comfortably apply (with my wife then working). Any thoughts any advise will be appreciated.

thanks !

I suggest you do a search. You're married to a dentist and immigrating. I don't think it's an uphill battle.
