Prospective Undergraduate Student

Here's my story. I'm applying to colleges this coming Fall, and I've been drawn into business. I'm really strong with numbers, analysis, and I have a strong interest in the economy and the way money is handled in business. I don't quite know what to do, or where I want to go. Is there any way someone can help me? I've heard that actuarial science or financial analysis would be my best bet, but I don't know what schools are good for those or for most business-related fields in general. I was perusing other parts of this site that say that businessweek is basically retarded and doesn't know what they're talking about, so I'm thinking about throwing away Notre Dame and Berkeley from my list. Please post serious responses, I'm in some desperate help.

elchapitan47I just want some guidance in what might be good for me and what are some good places I should apply to

Williams, Amherst and Pomona. Amherst and Pomona are particularly great as they allow you to take courses at the neighboring schools as well. Maybe Swarthmore or Middlebury as well. Major in Econ and Math. Get good grades and you'll essentially have your choice of career paths.

You're way to young to pigeon hole yourself. Apply as many places as you can and try to get scholarships to those schools. If you're sure sure about finance, you need to go to a target school. Just go to Wharton or those targets and then the world is your oyster. BUT SERIOUSLY IT"S THE SUMMER BEFORE YOUR SENIOR YEAR..so go friggin enjoy yourself and stop posting on this site.

You'll burn out too quick if you keep worrying like this. Seriously, you have your whole life to do whatever. If you learn anything on this site, it's that f you want to do finance, then you'll do it. Following a certain "path" won't ensure that.

Mokey, What schools are "target schools"? and yeah I plan on enjoying my summer...I just want to have a plan for when school starts again
