rank the three

solely based on prestige in the finance industry and recruit ability into top ib/pe firms out of ug, which one would you pick: Duke, Dartmouth or Cornell?

Three very good schools and similar in terms of placement. I’d say Dartmouth, then Duke, then Cornell. They are very different schools in terms of social scene, location, etc… Think about what sort of college experience you would want. Given how close they are in placement, don’t only think about prestige.

Dartmouth is strongest from a pure placement perspective followed pretty closely by Duke and then a bit of a gap to Cornell. I would discourage making a decision solely based on placement though as you will get top opportunities from all of these schools. Dartmouth's edge is a track record of PE opps right out of undergrad. BX, WP, SLP, and Bain analyst programs have all hired Dartmouth undergrads in recent years but haven't seen this for the other two. But these spots are so hard to come by that it's likely irrelevant

Overall would agree with the order presented above. Dartmouth is probably best and then Duke and then Cornell. While Cornell as a whole is a target, I would say Dyson is closer to the same level as the other two schools overall. I mention that because from your other post, I noticed you're recruiting as an athlete - Dyson has a ton of athletes and has pretty lenient grading relative to a lot of other majors.

You should be able to be competitive for banking roles out of any of these schools. PE opps exist but they are pretty hard to land, even at Wharton and Harvard.
