Best academics = UT Best city = UT Hottest girls = UT Funnest campus = UT

The only downside I can think of for some people is the size of the school (class sizes), but most people I know like the big school feeling.

And also do you want to be in TX afterwords? I assume so based on those geographies.

TX/Rice are toss up in my mind for undergrad opportunities in Houston. Otherwise, I would say UT for other locales or grad school.

Maybe most importantly, UT has best football team on that list by far.

Also, as far as UT goes, I would bet that recruiting and the alumni database is much more extensive than the other two schools. The undergrad program is usually top 10-15 in Newsweek and the number of graduates is obviously huge.

Having gone to Tulane freshman year and transferred, I can tell you it will be a good choice if you want to get drunk and party every night, but it's reputation is much better than the school really is - it's really a safety school for kids who don't get in to ivys, and the academics and professors are subpar. I don't know too much about the other two, but if you want to know more on tulane send me a PM

In terms of balance sheet/endowment size/debt service, Rice is on the same level as the Ivy's. Not the case with UT or Tulane.

Personally, if I were sifting through resumes, Rice would catch my eye.

UT's got the big name and the business school, but on a pure intelligence level it's really not that close between it and Rice. If you are talking about MBA, I guess UT is better, although as an undergrad I'm not entirely positive. I've heard gripes from Rice alumni that the Jones Schoo drags drown the rest of the school, since it's not a top 20 B-school.
