Risk -> MBA -> MBB/IB

Anyone here that started their corporate career BO in Risk/Compliance of a top tier IB, got bored, thought life is not going anywhere despite much less stress and good comp, decided to do MBA, worked on her profile for 2 years, got into a top US B-school, and landed an offer FO in an IB/ MBB?

Would like to know about your journeys. Please try to be a tad more detailed than you usually are. This might just give me a lot of foresight, lol.
