science grad thinking of MSF to be an ESG analyst, will tier matter?

Hi,

I have a non-US Master's degree in Environment (climate change) and am hoping to get a job as an ESG analyst/work in the sustainable finance sector.

As I didn't have any knowledge on the finance/business sector I studied for some ESG-related certificates and received them - CFA UK investing in ESG & SASB FSA credentials and waiting for the result for GARP SCR -> but still no luck of getting jobs (been trying for almost a year on and off)

I feel like getting a degree in finance might help me with acquiring some finance knowledge, analytical skills & some professional networks (and some cultural adjustment!)

So my question is, I have seen postings about MSF and recommendations to go for top tier ones to get into IB but does it apply for an ESG analyst role as well? Honestly I don’t care too much about compensation & the name of the company. I just want to start from somewhere and build my career….

Any pointers will be much appreciated!
