SMU Masters in Finance - FullTime/PartTime?

Curious if anyone has info about SMU's one year masters.
Of course my ideal place of employment would be Dallas, so that's why it's top on the list.

Are one year programs better than taking it part time over two years?
Mainly concerned about if it's one year you don't have get that summer in between year 1 and year 2 for internship.
Or is it literally primarily for the "name brand" being on the resume.

I go to UT Dallas so it'd be a good "jump to school" for masters if it places really well into top firms.
Hard to justify dropping nearly 50k on it if it's not going to pay off.
Opinions?

Haven't heard too much about SMU's MSF program, but I know UT Austin has a great program, which I'm sure would give you some job prospects in Dallas.

From what I've heard, its better to go full-time one year than part time. You really don't get the immersion and the full experience of the program when you're doing it part time. You're right that you won't have the internship opportunities after one year in the MSF, but what I've seen is some students will apply to SA internships as a senior in college because they still technically have another year with the MSF program.

The name brand is the main reason I went the MSF route, but you will most likely need to go to one of the top ranked programs (Nova, WashU, Mckenna, Vandy...) to get that additional brand boost. Some schools are just taking advantage of the trend as a moneymaker without providing as much value as those programs.

Hope that helps,
