Summer Options for IB

I was admitted into a lot of good universities like Tulane, BU, and UCSD but because of recent family finances, my best option is University of Alabama because it’s free. I got the Competitive Applicant, Presidential, and Engineering Scholarships. I plan to major in an engineering discipline and finance. I know coming from a state school will make it hard to break into IB but I’m very dedicated, I’ve maintained a 3.97 and 4.4 GPA and have won many regional science award and interned at a local university. I’m doing engineering to make me also look more competitive. Would love any advice for trying to break into IB!

This summer I have a few options:

  1. London School of Economics: I’d be taking a Psych and Finance class and would live in London for 6 weeks. Would have to pay but cost isn’t a big deal since my entire college is paid for. Can get credit for the classes and use them at Bama

  2. National Youth Summer Camp: Selected as 1 of 2 delegates to represent the state of Louisiana. Is fully funded program in West Virginia for 4 weeks where it focuses on outdoor activities and STEM lectures.

Which would look better me to go to London for finance program or do STEM?

Reached out to anyone I could and they all said no because of my family income. We make too much to get any more scholarship but not enough to pay 90k/year at either. Got 20k off at Tulane and if I wentId have to go into debt…
