Target/Semi/Non-Target Schools Confusion

I'm kinda confused on the ranks of schools for Investment Banking. According to the WSO, Rutgers is ranked 26 but is regarded as a non-target. Does it really matter if you go to a non-target like a Rutgers, Fordham, or Lehigh if you are dedicated to a career in IB. Also if you graduate with a good GPA and have good work experiences you can go to a target grad school right? So would it really matter if you worked at a BB or not if you went on to go to a top grad school.

  1. Anything is possible from any school, just target students have it easier due to alumni/prestige and on site recruiting which is compensated with difficult admission. Non targets have to grind much harder but definitely doable.
  1. Yes getting into a top grad school is possible from anywhere but you will likely need a higher GPA, better interview skills, and work harder than a target student
