Hands down Wharton. Not even close (no slight to Tuck -- the only close call imo would be if H)
"They are all former investment bankers that were laid off in the economic collapse that Nancy Pelosi caused. They have no marketable skills, but by God they work hard."
It'd be pretty easy to pass up any of the non-HSW M7 schools for Tuck, but passing on Wharton when your post-MBA goal is banking just seems like a bad idea unless you really love New Hampshire (or are getting a full ride or something).
Although tuck is very family friendly, given your career goals, it just doesn't make sense to turn down Wharton (unless perhaps tuck offered you a full scholly and wharton gave you zero aid). I know plenty who have turned down booth/kellogg/columbia for tuck/haas, but if you get into HSW you should take it. Having said that, tuck does have an insanely loyal alumni network, which can come in very handy.
Tough call for sure. I'd venture to say Tuck has a more family friendly and team driven environment, whereas Wharton is more cut throat with huge class sizes. If your goal is IB you will get it from either school. If I was single I'd say Wharton, given you have two kids, I'd lean Tuck. That's just me though, I have no idea what your family situation is like.
"Wharton has possibly a better finance reputation"??
Sorry but the two are not even in the same league when it comes to finance. You must've read too many of those absurd businesweek/fortune magazine rankings. Harvard, Wharton, and Stanford are probably the best MBA programs you can get in to. Tuck is great in it's own way, but it's finance reputation pales in comparison to Wharton, and yes there will be a noticeable difference when applying to banking/pe jobs
Tuck - Smaller, more intimate classroom setting. Beautiful campus. Perfect for laid-back, introverted individuals. Big-time target for MBB.
Wharton - Larger classroom size, great social scene, second largest network behind HBS. Very challenging course load. Best choice for high-finance (HF & PE). Perfect for extremely driven, extroverted individuals.
Champagne problem brother...you can't go wrong with either school.
As an outsider looking in, I'd say the following:
Tuck- family friendly, tends to draw a little older, settled student body, fiercely loyal to other Tuckies, good family environment if you're into the seasons and nature, will probably have to put in a little extra effort as far as recruiting goes since Hanover is in the middle of nowhere
Wharton- hands down the better finance school, larger student body, arguably a little more cutthroat, Philly gets hated on as being a bad city but it has its bright spots like Rittenhouse Square
Tuck places extremely well on Wall Street and Tuckies are the most loyal alumni that you will find. Also, the family support at Tuck is second to none. I have first hand knowledge of both of these things. PM me if you want any further insight.

^ Seconded. For high finance, Wharton is king.
I would go to Tuck, but for purely personal reasons.
Ditto.
I agree. Loyal alumni being the primary reason.

Congrats on getting in to both though.
You'll be fine at either school for BB IB. W may have more of the "elite" boutiques which are not bad options at all.

how did you get into tuck and wharton if you dont already know the answer?
or do you just log on here to brag about the schools you got into?
