UMich Ross for NYC IB

Hello everyone, I’m currently a high school senior that was recently accepted into UMich Ross. I want to explore IB and was wondering whether Ross would set me up for it. I am aware that the school is a target but I want to get more perspectives from current students or alumni. How is the culture at Ross? Are all 600 undergrads gunning for IB? How rigorous are the classes? Are getting into those investment clubs really that difficult and are the absolutely crucial?

Culture at Ross is fine, not really competitive but v much cliquey, not to say that people aren’t cordial to each other. Clubs are important but doesn’t mean you can’t get an offer without it. No not all 600 kids are going for IB. It feels like more kids are interested in consulting quite honestly. I think like a quarter of the class goes into banking. Classes are fine, curve is generous enough, concepts aren’t groundbreaking just study and you’ll be straight. Ross can be insular at times so make friends in LSA, engineering, etc. If you work for it, opportunities are abundant. From a career perspective, not many better choices you can make. Umich is a big enough school that you’ll be able to find your squad. It’s a great time, highly recommend.
