Undergrad: Bocconi vs. SSE
I'm born and raised in Sweden. I would like to work in investment banking and eventually move into PE or HF, or pursue entrepreneurship. I have been admitted to both Bocconi (BSc Economics, Management & Computer Science) and Stockholm School of Economics, SSE (BSc Business & Economics).
Which would be better for me? I am leaning towards SSE because of the following:
Feels like I have better opportunities of landing a job in IB straight after undergrad, almost everyone in Bocconi seems to take a MSc. A LinkedIn search will confirm this.
SSE is free and close to home, and I am very familiar to the social life.
Any thoughts?
Okay, so I am not an expert on this, and of course I think you can apply to graduate programs at BBs in London, but the chances look slim. The problem for Italy is that it is right now in a banking crisis and the economy is doing very bad; I don't see this to recover any time soon. Also, do you speak Italian? Yes, the undergraduate program might have English courses, but I really wouldn't go there if I don't speak the language. I would go to SSE for free because you already know the life their, and most importantly, it's fee. Afterwards, I would pursue a master's in the UK and apply jobs in there. But who knows how the sponsorship for Visa would change after the Brexit. But you can apply to Nordic firms or branches in Nordic countries.
