Undergrad - Williams/Amherst/Dartmouth/Brown/Cambridge
Hello, I'm a high school senior who's having a bit of a tough time choosing between these schools. My first choice is Cambridge, but I would be fine attending another school; I'd feel comfortable at any of them. My main concern with Cambridge is whether or not I would have issues returning to the US for employment. Are the costs of a weaker US network and potentially greater difficulty of getting interviews and internships enough to justify going to a US school? Also, Cambridge is only a three-year degree, so would I be at a great disadvantage against 4-year American students?
Thanks for your time!
You brought up the main concerns with the Cambridge degree (weaker US network, 3 year degree vs. 4, etc.) I think the runaway favorite here is Dartmouth. Far better recruiting and Wall Street connections than Brown, and the LACs (Williams and Amherst), although great schools, are not at the same level as the Ivy League. In addition, you'll have a ton of fun at Dartmouth, way more than at the other schools. Have a great time and then head to the Street with your bros.
I'd say Dartmouth or Williams or Amherst, just choose based on whether you want to be at a LAC or university.
