Uni Investment Fund Interview Reflection

Hey all, I just need to vent a bit and self reflect. I had an interview for an investment fund at my uni today, and I think I blew it.

The description specified it was mostly behaviourals and technicals, and I was supposed to quickly pitch a stock at the end. Easy enough, right? Wrong. There were barely any behaviourals/technicals. Instead, they decided to grill me on the numbers for the stock I pitched, which I was only able to speak about on the surface level because I changed my choice last minute for no good reason (in retrospect). I was basically sitting there twiddling my thumbs like a dumbass. FML.

From this experience, I learned that I need to prioritize my time better. I saw a friend I hadn't seen in a while over the weekend. Normally, that's a good thing, but when you have exams, club duties, networking, and interviews, you really have no time for that shit. Because of losing that one day, I now missed out on an incredible opportunity that would have been immensely helpful in achieving my dream career. I'm not saying there won't be more opportunities down the line, but fuck man, I wish I had spent more time on preparing for this interview. For God's sake, I should have skipped my classes today to prepare for this interview. I only realized how important it was to me now, when it is no longer an option. At least I now know to never be under-prepared again.

My fellow apes in undergrad; trust your gut and really take the time to think about the opportunity cost when making decisions. That's all I have to say.
