UVA McIntire Alumni
Hey guys, have been looking at some grad programs like UVA's and Duke's specialized masters and some other MSF type programs. I have been accepted to UVA and I wanted to see how many people have had success with McIntire alumni. I know the school has solid OCR but I was just curious to see the overall view on how helpful McIntire alumni usually are for breaking into IB, ER, etc. Thanks.
Every alumni of the UVA MS Commerce program that I have spoken to have raved about the alumni and how they help. I think that is one of the strong points of the program.
I have never met an unhappy UVA alum and the campus/town is very nice
Thanks guys. I was curious bc I am from a non-target and my experience is probably not as solid as the McIntire undergrads (just an AM internship at a small investment bank, not much valuation/analysis experience) and I don't want to be naive and think that I am going to get tons of first rounds for IB, ER from OCR. I have a feeling I will have to network heavily so I'm glad their alumni is top notch.
I have heard good things about the program, which usually means that their placements are solid.
I can't get exact placements though because their reports are for McIntire as a whole. Also I spoke with a student and it seemed like the students getting interviewed through OCR at the legit places were the kids who could have got interviews without the degree, i.e. already had ib internships.
I wish I had applied to uVa. They've produced far more baller HF managers than any other school that I'm aware of.
