Placement wise there couldn't be more similar schools than these 2. Its usually very hard to compare schools due to variety of factors but these are the exception. They're the "southern ivies" that draw from similar subset of students with similar interests and backgrounds and they're in the same region. There's virtually no difference between the 2 despite what some may say while giving a definitive answer. Emory has historically had very strong placement and pipeline into Elite Boutiques-CVP, PWP, Lazard,Greenhill and Vandy has a stronger pipeline to BBs(especially BOA) and some EBs like- Evercore, Moelis. Both are super targets in the south and top semi-targets in NYChttps://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-banking. According to this list Vandy is 20th per capita and Emory is 21st so no real difference.  I think both of these schools are on the rise and Vanderbilt seems to have risen somewhat more. Emory has historically had better placement but now its basically equal with Vanderbilt having a slight edge.
