Villanova is an UG semi target. MM IBD comes on campus, smaller PE, all the F500 firms and their rotational programs, Big 4, etc. Depending on what you get involved in during your UG stint will increase your shot at BB firms. Equity society, fixed income society, SMF are all the top groups to be in. I personally know a ton of kids in all of these groups and many have BB FO positions now.

The school is in a very rich area and pretty much a place for well off students IMO. Lots of solid family connections, tons of alumni on the street, etc. Has the feel of a huge private high school.

The MBA is fine if you work and live in the area. It represents well in Philadelphia. It is a working professionals type program.

I can testify to ANTs comment. Villanova is definitely a semi-target. A lot more BB banks recruit here than people care to realize. I know for a fact that GS, MS , JPM, and BoAML come to recruit for some FO positions as a lot of my friends how graduated last semester got FT offers from them. The big 4 recruit heavily especially Deloitte for consulting(I think 2 OCR events last school year).

Definitely an "upper class" feel to the students but accompanying that are the innumerable opportunities to network win students whose parents or relatives are big time players on the Street and/or run PE and HF

Agree with above posters. I'll add something else:

I think it also depends on what you're looking to get into. The accountants I know from Nova got into accounting with ease (similar to BC/Notre Dame, Nova is known to have great connections with the Big 4), finance with relatively more difficulty (definitely a number of FO positions, more MO/BO positions), but the placement into consulting is weak.

None of the people I know who went to Nova could get into a top tier consulting firm. To KingJuice's statement, the ones who go to Deloitte are typically not in BA's in the S&O department -- they do ERP/BTA etc...at least the few that I know of.

Sometimes lies are more dependable than the truth.

^^very true. I don't have any MBB contacts from my school. And I guess I should add an addendum to my Deloitte consulting point: it is mostly BTA.

But to counter the point above many people I know esp the graduating class are indeed in front office whether it be in BB or at boutiques...not quite sure what you're referring to.

I would describe Nova as a MO/BO target, but a complete non-target for FO positions. Granted, I've only been on the street for 1 year, but I've never met a Villanova alumnus in a FO position.

Interesting. I personally know about 50, ranging from seniority and firm size. Obviously not as well represented as other schools, but plenty to have an alumni pull.

RagnarDanneskjoldAs far as BB's go...I personally only know one FO alum in S&T.

Maybe you just don't know that many people on the street. Plenty of Nova alumns in IBD/S&T at BBs and reputable MM's.
