Which MSF Program should I attend next year?
Need some advice selecting which MSF program to attend.
I was offered a full scholarship to Johns Hopkins, as well as partial scholarships to The University of Rochester and Temple. The cost of U of R and Temple will be both less than 20k. Still waiting on an admissions decision for Vanderbilt.
I am a domestic student who wants to break into ER or IB in NYC.
Thoughts?
Wait if you can to see what Vanderbilt says
Rochester hands down. Underrated program and an underrated business school in general.
Yeah but they have so many internationals.
Wait for vandy. Why these two programs? Temple is decent, in a major city and you can easily get to NYC. Rochester is fine if you plan on going back to China or India, but you won't get much of anything from career services in the US. Rochester is a rough place to spend a year also.
I'd apply elsewhere and reassess.
I liked Temple because the Program teaches to parts I and II of the CFA exam. I think Rochester is a great program after visiting and getting honest opinion's from a number of alumni. Johns Hopkins also impressed me when I visited and I found a solid amount of JHU MSF alumni working on Wall Street ( almost all domestic). I also think JHU is a program that's reputation will increase as time progresses. Vandy is my first choice if I get in, but it is tough to shell out 50k for the program when I have the opportunity to receive a free education from JHU and am confident in my abilities to network and secure a quality job.
