Which school should I choose?
I am a high school student and choosing a college. Because of not applying to prestigous schools I am limited to the only two I have applied to. One is a little known Southern liberal arts school with no recruiting but I would play a varsity sport and the other is the university of arkansas with only one investment bank who recruits from there. I would probably either transfer out after two years or get a MSF. Which school should I choose?
Also the liberal arts school does not offer a finance major, I would have to do accounting.
I would pick the small liberal arts school. It will give you a better education and being a varsity athlete will be an invaluable experience. And if only one bank recruits at the University of Arkansas, it sounds like you will inevitably have to take the initiative to find a job.
It totally depends on your goals. Are you trying to get drunk and holler at as many girls as possible? Arkansas. Are you trying to get the best education and still get drunk and holler at girls? Liberal arts.
However, if the liberal arts school doesn't even have an Econ degree, that could be a deal-breaker. That may just be personal preference, though, since I really hated Accounting.
The school doesn't have an Economics degree but said they may in a year or two, so I'd be stuck with Accounting.
If you're going to transfer after two years or get a MSF, I would pick whatever school where you will excel academically and get involved in ECs. If the social aspect is negligible, focus on making your app as strong as possible.
