Which School Should I Commit To?
I've so far been accepted to the University of Virginia CAS and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill CAS. I intend to major in Economics and Math and I wanted to know which school would be best for me if I want to break into MBB. I'm hoping I could get some thoughts and opinions on the best play here.
UVA.
Why? What makes UVA a better choice than UNC?
As a KF alum, only go to UNC if you want Atlanta or Charlotte MBB or are really diverse and can swing their diversity programs (even then, the battle is uphill),
Gotcha, yeah I didn’t get into KF (obviously) so it would be more worth it to get into UVA?
If you’re entering as a freshman, practically everyone gets into KF sophomore spring as long as you have a good application. Get very involved on campus and don’t have a low GPA at the end of your first year. I would guess around 45% acceptance but those are generally the serious candidates (seems like you would fall into this category if you’re already posting here).
I'm an accepted junior transfer student
Both great schools. probably more similar than different. However as someone alluded, UVA has a better national "top office" reach for MBB and other industries (like banking). UVA draws quite well to DC and NYC for lots of things.
