The great thing about going to grad school is it opens up a wide array of employers post-grad school. You'll be able to recruit for several different areas of 'high finance' after.
If you stay at the fund, it's going to be a much harder argument to make for someone to laterally hire you. Also, it restricts the types of jobs you will recruit for.

I suggest pushing extra hard on SG. HK is turning into another Shenzen and capital / jobs are flowing out of HK to SG.
I would even put together a list of LSE alums in SG to reach out to before you start. Just treat all these networking outreaches as interviews.

Not OP, but is it really possible to recruit in SG/HK directly from a UK/US school without having been born in the country? Also, aren't there language barriers? Or is English sufficient?
English is the working language in HK and SG.
You'll be surprised how many grads from top programs end up in HK and SG, some with no connection to the area, though many do have a connection to HK/SG if not China.
It's not easy by any means, but in my opinion easier than trying to lateral from a firm in Europe there.
