World Bachelor of Business: USC, Bocconi, HKUST - Worth it?

Hi!

I am a high school senior, and I'm in thinking of applying to the WBB program. I will be an international student, and so will need a visa to work in the US after I graduate, though will be a PR in Hong Kong. Interested in IB/ M&A, but not too knowledgeable about it yet, so any and all advice is much appreciated. I am a girl, if that makes a difference to your advice.

PRO

  • Lots of experience with very good schools (1 year USC Marshall, 1 year Bocconi, 1 year HKUST)
  • Cheaper than regular US Uni (though that is affordable if it is better)

CONS

  • Do not know about its placement rate in IB/ M&A or any other role in the financial industry
  • Not sure about graduate visa eligibility

Hey, all depends on your stats and where you want to work afterwards... Also, what are your other options. WBB is not a bad option but then in Europe there are BBA that are cheaper (even if you are non-European). Answer those to be able to provide the best response possible :)

Your stats are strong aim higher than the WBB.

PPE at Oxford would be my best pick for the UK. Followed by LSE.

Then Cornell would be the best pick for the US. Columbia-Sciences Po not sure it has the same strength as their individual degrees. That my concern by WBB not sure how well you are viewed by alumni of each schools as you barely spend a year at each...

Overall, I would put 1-Oxford far ahead then Cornell then LSE then WBB (but far apart the others three).

Hope it helps :)

Thanks for your help! If I ended up in the UK (more likely tbh considering it's more objective than US applications), would Warwick give me a good chance at a good job as an international student?

If I understand, your ranking is: Oxford > Cornell > LSE > WBB = UCL/Warwick/ KCL/ SciencesPo ?
