UG Junior Finance advice

I have been a member for some time now (just under 2 years) and I want to say that I am not messing with anyone as far as trolling or whatever is concerned. Two years ago I transferred to a Patriot League school with what could be considered a fairly decent-strong academic reputation, especially in the area in which it is located. However, since transferring, I have gotten terrible (and I mean terrible) grades. My GPA at the beginning of the spring semester of my junior year is a 2.2 and I am a finance major intending to go into banking.

Having followed the site for a whole now, I realize that this is downright pathetic and I couldn't be angrier at myself for being immature, enjoying freedom, being dumb, etc. However, I am intelligent and a strong diversity core is required at my school for graduation, meaning I do have plenty of community service and at least one internship on my resume at this point in my academic career. I have of course realized that my opportunity to get a quality internship this summer has been severely stunted and I am in big trouble if I do not start earning exceptional grades for my remaining three semesters.

What I wanted from WSO is to know if anyone has been in my shoes and if they suggest grinding it out and attempting to raise my GPA as high as possible (it is my transfer GPA so not weighted as heavily, but my previous school was not prestigious), or think I should cut my losses and attempt switching majors to something more versatile and staying in school for an extra semester to facilitate the change? I have a genuine interest in finance and wish I could go back in time but I can at least say I have learned what not to do! I have applied to numerous internships this summer and have received some contact from alumni and connections, but my GPA wasn't on my resume and I'm fearful once they learn of my paltry average, they will say, "nice try kid!" I know searching is more than encouraged, but I feel like my case is a little unique given I transferred and may potentially be able to salvage myself from this situation. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I feel you on the GPA. I am in 2.6 land. You will get auto-dinged on any online apps, so you will have to use networking and experience.

Best line I've used "I feel I've learned more from my low GPA because I now understand the importance of keeping your foot on the gas 24/7, and since point X, I've lived a 4.0 lifestyle." (provide examples of a change in performance).

"We're not lawyers, we're investment bankers. We call you for the paperwork. We didn't go to Harvard, we went to Wharton, and we saw you coming a mile away."

MSF might be a good idea if you don't get anything.
