7 digit bonuses

So, I've read many 7 digit bonuses happening to traders...I've never had an inside view of the life of traders so I will ask the experts here. Are these things actual reality? If you're decent, on average how old are these people w/ 7 digit bonuses?

P.S. What I meant by 7 digit is in the lower brackets of 7 digit, aka not $9,999,999 but more like $1-2 m...

Thanks for helping a confused aspiring ... (fill in the blank)

oh please don't judge someone b4 u really know them...I'm merely skeptical as hinted by words such as "are these things actual reality?" or "lower brackets"...You may not know but not many 30 year olds make millions...or also, FYI but I'm sure you won't care I believe in hard work and "get rich quick scheme" is not in my dictionary...Thanks anyway...if anyone else has any comments, I'd appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

i know but i get that all the time from ppl who don't know what the heck traders do...they're like "oh so you're trying to make a lot of money?"

i always say, "yeah, luckily what i want to do pays really well if your good at it...." but, i could never imagine doing a job with a cap on the salary anyway. i'd rather sell vacuum cleaners for myself than work a well paying job with no room for performance based comp.
