Advices on which desk in S&T is good for me?

Hi everyone,

This August I will be joining a "Almost BB" in London as a Global Markets Graduate. I will do 3 rotations and I can chose the stream, I want to do trading, but I can't chose the desk.

But since I have almost nothing to do (beside easy uni stuff) for the next 6 months I would like to learn stuff I will need for the desk I would like to join after the graduate.

My question is, how do I understand which desk is for me? I really like Macro and trying to understand what is happening, what are the implications and what's going to happen next. So my thinking was Rates or Cross-Assets. But I am good-ish at math and stat (I come from econ background) and I know some basics in python but not much more.

Sorry if this post doesn't make much sense but I am honestly really confused.

Thanks in advance!!

I just want to relay same information light hearted brather. Ppl already stress too much. You know where I come from in Dagestan - we don’t stress… we make people tep.

Oh? Interviewer don’t like you? Make him tep. D’Arce choke for brather

brather im serry i dont knows bout credit vol. But i remember my brather tell me " any vol desk make you tep". if desk make you tep means desk hard and good future. Vol is good brather.

Thanks brother :')

My only doubt is that these desks (as far as I have read) require some advanced quant skills that I don't have. Any advice? I know the basics of quant finance and can write a bit in python but i don't think I can compete with someone that has math/cs background
