Any one / heard of other traders went back to school (non-MBA) and landed good opportunities?
So basically I’ve been trading on the sell side for the last few years at one of more franchise based bank, and I’ve seriously been weighing up option to go back to a reputable school to do a one year course in computer science. Recognising coding skills is all important and that, but mostly want to give another shot at a junior role but either at a more risk taking bank covering derivatives or a hedge fund. I’ve seen some colleagues went to get their MBA and it worked out for them, but mostly because they got a chance to recruit into associate internships and such, but I’ve never seen anyone going back for one year masters. Anyone been through this or seen other traders go through this?
Still deliberating on this as I don’t want to give up my salary for a punt haha
Hi Dawg-nuts, check out these threads:
More suggestions...
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
a better route would be to figure out what you want to do...learn the skills you need to do that (while staying at your current job)...and then lateral.
