Base salaries for BB S&T?

Anyone have a good picture of mid-level salary and total comp ranges for traders / desk analysts / sales at BB banks on flow desks?   Ie; Associate / VP / Directors.

Haven’t been on sellside in a few years and seems like there are huge ranges posted for most of the banks. (Goldman 150-300, JPM 200-350, etc)

Based on the WSO Dataset, here's a snapshot of the compensation ranges for various levels within BB S&T roles, focusing on flow desks. It's important to note that these figures can vary significantly based on the bank's performance, individual performance, and market conditions. However, the provided data should give you a general idea of the compensation landscape.

  • Associate Level: The compensation for Associates in S&T typically includes a base salary and a bonus component. While specific figures can vary, an Associate's base salary can range from approximately $140k to $150k. Bonuses at this level can be substantial, potentially equaling or exceeding the base salary, depending on the factors mentioned above.

  • Vice President (VP) Level: VPs in S&T can expect a higher base salary, often in the range of $175k to $200k. Total compensation, including bonuses, can vary widely but often falls within the $300k to $500k range. The upper end of this range is usually reserved for top performers in favorable market conditions.

  • Director Level: Directors, or Executive Directors in some banks, see further increases in both base salary and potential bonuses. Base salaries can start at around $200k and go up significantly from there. Total compensation can reach into the $600k to $800k range for high performers, with the possibility of exceeding this in exceptional cases.

It's crucial to understand that these figures are indicative and can fluctuate based on numerous factors. Additionally, within the S&T division, there can be significant variance between different desks and products. Some products or groups might consistently hit the upper band of compensation due to the bank's strengths in those areas or favorable market conditions for those products.

Remember, the landscape of S&T compensation is subject to change, and banks are continuously adjusting their compensation structures to stay competitive and reflect market realities.
