BB Credit Analyst (rising senior) - 2024 FT Opps
I'm currently interning as a credit analyst at a big west-coast commercial bank; I attend a west-coast target with a 3.5 GPA. What verticals can I reasonably recruit for? I'd most ideally slide into a ER, DCM, and PC position for FT.Additionally, would something like a corporate ratings position at a credit rating agency be a step up? I'm a bit unsure of how far I can feasibly move.

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
Any IB position would be a stretch, would focus on corporate banking, I know people at BB corporate banking groups that struggle to move to IB.
I think it’s feasible to move from BB credit to DCM / LevFin related roles at slightly lower tier banks. Don’t think that corporate ratings experience would help tho ( did a soph internship at S&P so I know a bit about them)
IG DCM, LevFin or gen coverage of your specialized sector is your natural transition if moving from credit to IB. Not going to lie, as a credit guy myself the IB lifestyle and demands are onerous. Be sure it's what you want and have a compelling reason why you didn't recruit IB in the first place.
