Was wondering if anyone had any insight on the strongest FICC desks in EMEA.
Also if anyone could shed light on their Special Situations group that would be great, is this group actually investing bank capital?

Best Trading Desks at BAML (Equities/Mortgages) (Originally Posted: 02/16/2010)
Hey guys,
A friend of mine will be starting out FT at BAML S&T within either Equities or Mortgages. I was hoping someone could provide insight on some of the better trading desks within equities and mortgages.
-Which overall division is stronger -Specific desks that are strong

What type of personality does your friend have and did he meet people on both desks?
Yup, liked people he met in both divisions, but they were all trying to sell him pretty hard.
Credit is BAML's strong point, but of the two options I would say mortgages. Plain equities as a whole is not where you want to learn to trade in my opinion ---too liquid. However, I'm not really familiar with the equity space so ignore me...
Do people look at P/E for equities like credit uses leverage??? always wondered...
