BP traders

I know that it takes 3 years to become a trader for BP and that the P&L you take when you are a trader is less than the percentage you get from IB's but does anyone know how the base and bonus works those first 3 years when you aren't actually trading? Thanks

The question is why do you want to work for them? Are you trying to focus on energy trading (long term) specifically? I've been at a couple of their presentations and around when they do their simulations and I was quite unimpressed to say the least and the people working there were even more unimpressive to say the least. I've heard their trading operations also haven't been doing so hot.

anyone know if bp is still looking to continue hiring traders? has trading at bp become less desirable due to the spill? I read a lot of traders at bp have left

Heavy Oil London office was hit hard. But as mentioned were in stage 1 of many for this whole gulf mess.

They are hiring traders and its business as usual. The 800 pound gorilla doesn't just die over night.
