CH - Cargill First Interview

Hi all,

I have a 30-minute video screening coming up with Cargill's World Trading Group in Geneva for the STSA Trainee position — 18-month rotational program across Contract Execution, Middle Office, Risk Management, Mid-East Marketing Desk, Analytics and commercial trading desks.

I've prepared on physical trading concepts (basis, hedging, origination, forward curve, WASDE) and current grains/oilseeds market dynamics.

A few questions for anyone who has been through this process:

How technical is the first screening — mostly motivational/behavioural or do they test market knowledge?
Any specific questions that came up?
How much emphasis on grains/oilseeds specifically vs general commodity knowledge?
Any advice from people who went through STSA or similar Cargill programs?

He took the time to understand my background, past experiences, and the specific roles I am currently recruiting for, and then tailored his suggestions accordingly. He also connected many of his recommendations to his own professional background and experiences, which made the feedback much more practical and credible.
