Clearing house jobs?

Not sure where I should put this question, but I guess it is closely linked with trading and therefore I'm posting it here (plus there seems to be more people gathering in this forum).

I know what a clearing house is and what they do in general. But I'm just wondering what would a clearning house front office person (trader?/analyst?) do on a day-to-day basis? Is the job more like a trader or a broker? What is the likely skillset does it require? And what does the career prospect look like? Is there any book that touches this topic?

As you can see, I know nothing about career in a clearning house - so any information is much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Not sure about clearing houses specifically, but the "front office" clearing folks at the bulge brackets tend to be business developers. They make client relationships and win clearing business for the bank. Maybe it's similar at a clearing house, but I'd do more research if I were you (since a clearing house clearly isn't the same as a bank).
