Clinker and cement trading

Looking at the international trade flows of building materials from top players like Holcim and HeidelbergCement, is anyone in the forum cash trading these products?

I'd appreciate some insights into how the business is run and what a trading career in cement (Holcim/Heidelberg) would look like in terms of comp, progression / exit opportunities, etc.

I'm just not sure if there's enough sophistication there vs. other classes of commodities. Seems purely commercial with few to zero opportunities to exit to financial trading if that’s your goal?

Bumping for some more insights on clinker and cement because I may get the offer soon.

This would be a transition from dry bulk agri at an ABCD to construction materials. For a +45% base, is it worth considering? Can anyone comment on the career prospects / pay progression in cement / aggregrates / concrete trading?

Only caveat personally is the pure commercial focus in cement trading as I'd prefer to pivot from commodities to financial trading and running my own desk / hedge fund at the end of the day (10+ years in the future). ABCD agri just seems like a better place to achieve that vs cement, but comp is slow and perpetually a problem there.
