Yes, but no. Many firms (banks, large institutions) structure it so there isn’t a huge variation between desks. Smaller shops/traders there is a lot of variability and % tied to PnL.

 

Merchandiser with a little over 1 YOE trading Wheat, Corn and Beans at an ABCD in the southern mid-west. Making $82k base with a $16k bonus this year.

 

Base salary in Switzerland:

Junior traders: CHF 100-130k
Junior operators:  CHF 70-95k
Trade finance is about the same as operations
