was invited to their place for final round, but wasn't able to attend b/c of scheduling conflict. they were at our campus for quant/prop trading. quite small, the quant desk is brand-spankin' new, which is why they were recruiting for that.

personally, i was not impressed with the conversation i had. the interviewer was an hour late, which pissed me off. anyway, have fun.

To offer a counter opinion, I've heard good things about Cygnus Atratus. An old colleague of mine has been with them for a couple years now and from what he's said the company is heading in a good direction. He seems very happy there. I've also heard people say CA has a good reputation in the pit, so they obviously know how to trade. I would approach the interview with an open mind, and see if the company is a good fit for you.

I worked for Cygnus Atratus and they were a very well respected trading firm that specialized in S&P 500 Options. They were one of the highest volume traders of that product in the world. However, in early 2010 they abruptly laid off all of their most experienced traders and a majority of their staff. I'm not sure what has become of the firm since then, but the respect they once had has vanished.
