Do you regret not chasing what really interested you?

Started as an analyst 1 year ago.. don’t enjoy the work I do at all (sales). Really want to do trading. Should I try to apply for other jobs now even though i’m only 1 year into my 2 year program?

I think its a bad look to leave my analyst program, but their are no open trading seats here. Im in a dilemma

Where would you suggest people apply who want to make the move? To first year analyst positions or just any open trading position? Most trading seats seem to require actual trading experience.

Dude you’re one year into your career, go get what you want. I was expecting some 40 year old posting about getting not trying to pursue their dream before getting bogged down with life

I did it, and it can be bitter sweet.

I left trading to join the Army. I was glad I did it because I would have woken up at 40/50 and thought ‘what if?’ But I also am pretty far behind my peers comp wise, and career progression wise. That’s just the price of doing business, also learned that people respect your for serving but when it comes to landing a job it just doesn’t matter at all.

I had great experiences and made great friends, but also have to face reality on the opportunity cost when I was re-entering the civilian workforce.
