Best major for s&t?

I’m entering university soon and have to pick my major. I’m pretty confident that I want to enter the sales side of S&T.

I did hear though that a lot of desks even on the sales side prefer kids from technical backgrounds (like physics, math, engineering).

So I was wondering, should I do a standard Econ major, or should I do a Math major?

It’s definitely good advice to stay on the technical side but the best way to land these jobs is to be interesting. You will not be interesting when majoring a field that you are not interested in, and don’t come off as naturally inclined to what you major in. Do what brings you most happiness and become the best at it, success will follow

Agree. Do what you are interested in. Also most salespeople from my point of view majored in Econ or finance. Some math. Rly no need for technical majors unless that is what you are actually interested in or want to pursue more technical trading desks.
