education?
My background - im currently 20 years old and have been trading equities for 2 years now since getting out of high school. My passion is to be a trader, and after trading these past 2 very hectic years i still very strongly feel that way.
my question - lately ive been thinking what can make me a better trader, and ive considered going to college and getting my bachelors. would you guys recommend i go for my BS in economics? accounting? im trying to figure out what would make me a better trader and at the same time give my background some type of significance. what about an MBA? a CFA? do either of these have any use in trading?

Agree with coffeebateman. The only piece of paper that really matters is green. If you're making those, why would you stop to spend four years of your life in a classroom?
in general i have done well, this month i am down 5% from being up a little over 20% last month. i have made a few mistakes which i have learned from, one of them is to never try to catch a falling knife.
the reason im considering going to school is because at some point in the near future i would like to try to trade for a bank. im not exactly sure how to get my foot in the door, but i figure with the right bachelors degree and maybe an audited record of my personal account i could maybe get a chance to trade next to a senior trader until i can be trusted with my own small book and grow from there. understand that my capital is small (in the low 5 figures, which i have built up trading from 4 figures) and i see a greater potential working for a trading desk
i would also like to trade crude oil, ive made some good calls on the CL contracts lately.
I would apply to the best schools you have a real chance of getting into and earning a college degree. Dont get me wrong its great you are growing your book but having a degree will let the banks know(and everyone else for that matter) that you came to play. It will also make you able to get an internship then full time offer for a bank if that is your end goal. If I was going to invest in a fund I would question the background of the managers and while a few have gone it with out college its very rare. Dont try to swin upstream if you dont have to. It is also easier to go to school now as you are young and have limited fixed bills as opposed to married, houston etc etc

If you're going to trade for anyone other than yourself you should probably go to school. I think the days of hiring people without - at the very least - a BA...are long past.
monty09, what bachelors of science degree do you think i should go for? ive pretty much narrowed it down to; economics, finance and accounting...the accounting degree just incase i incur losses for the bank or firm i will manage their books and do their taxes for life until the debt is paid (joking).
I understand that the next step forward would be to get my degree, so im just here looking for some type of advice as to which degree i should go for to eventually trade for a bank, preferably the crude oil desk
college degree will not help you at all with trading but u should go get one anyway. Have u considered trying to go to school at night? Get yourself a course catalog and look at the classes you will have to take for each major...go in the direction of the classes that you have interest in.
Why would you trade for someone else if you're already making good money on your own?
