FI to Eq Deriv?

Trying to recruit for trading FT positions and have some leads at management wings at insurance companies, of getting into a junior FI trader.

IMO, with my background I could go into QT/S&T for eq derivs except for my mediocre gpa.

Is there any preference in desks that I should lateral into eq derivs from?

Also planning on doing a MFE in the fall of ‘24 or ‘26 depending on what I land for my post-grad job which would start Jan ‘23
