For networking, should I be asking people to hop on a Zoom call, or just ring their phone number?
I've just started networking, and a VP from GS responded to me. She said to ring her at her phone number. Going forward, should I be asking to hop on a Zoom call, or is this inconveniencing the person since phone calls are probably easier (since you can take them when you're outside, walking, in your pajamas, etc.). I'm asking because I always thought that talking to someone and seeing their face can make a person more personable, and you can put a face to a name so it can be easier to remember. What are ygs thoughts?
Phone calls. If they prefer zoom/teams they'll tell you.

Zoom if you can. Much better. Don’t listen to the ppl on here. Say in initial outreach “would you be open to a short zoom or phone call at some point in the next couple weeks”. Something like that. I killed it w my zoom calls, but no matter how much charisma u have ur gonna struggle 50% of the time when ur on the phone cause most of the time the other person just ends up doing work while you call them
100% do phone call unless told otherwise. The people you’re speaking with are on zoom all day… a phone call gives them a chance to leave the desk, go for a walk, step outside, etc. Most of the time, the last thing they want is to be stuck on another zoom call
