Is there a website where one can download the historical currency exchange rates data? I need it for AUD/USD. Found data at Forexpros.com but is their a better website? Yahoo finance just gives a basic chart but no downloadable data I guess.

you mean like 3m, 6m 12m type forecasts? lot of banks publish them so search for their latest reports, but it will be hard to find day to day spot forecasts
For this, I had been using this and it's great. It has instructions which can help you. I have been using MarketXLS for this, it's been working Great so far. Just visit the site for more info. They also have a live support and a forum to help you with your questions/concerns.

Does anybody know where to find reliable and free public data on real exchange rates? The only free data sources I can find are either the nominal exchange rate or inflation, not on the real exchange rate directly.
To clarify: I am looking for "real exchange rate data" in the sense of the cross-national economic measure of price levels, not in the sense of a contrast to "fake exchange rate data"....
