If you could join any desk...

Sup WSO,

Looking for your opinions as to which desk you would join if you had the option to choose any. Just finished a SA stint on a Canadian BB fixed income trading desk and have been offered back with the option to choose any desk under the Capital Markets umbrella. As of now I am thinking of DCM, Structured Products or Prime Services....

Any hot takes on a desk with the highest upside that you would pick?

Thx

really depends on your own personal strengths and weaknesses

EM Bond Trading can be a great place to be...fortunes have been made (and lost) trading Emerging Markets...but requires a diverse skillset (foreign language, credit, legal etc..)

The other place to be is the US Treasury desk.  Govies are one desk that have been, and will always be exempt from the prop trading volker rule...so a US treasury trader is essentially a mini hedge fund (and if you are good.,...you can goto a real hedge fund and get paid 15% of your P&L)
