MS S&T SA EMEA Second Round Telephone

I've got a second round as seen from the title. On the MS website for EMEA, it seems that pre-corona there was one first round interview by phone and then straight to final round. So is this "second round" phone the final round? It would seem weird for it to just be a 30 min phone but at the same time there is nothing mentioned on their website about intermediate rounds between first and final. Would really welcome anyone who has been successful this year to share their experience. Thanks.

Hey, happy to help. Mine was with a trader on a desk I indicated interest in in my cover letter. It was largely behavioural but a bit on current markets.

Thanks that's pretty helpful :)
Am I crazy or there is absolutely no information on the application concerning where we might get sent to?
I mean when I applied the only information I had was: "S&T summer internship, London" no description, nothing.
I don't even know what I should prepare since it could be anything from commodities to cash equity. Is it possible that I missed something?

Not to depress you, but the process is complete bullshit.

I am a trader at one of the top BBs, guessing it's the same everywhere, i honestly have no clue how to select summer interns on 1st round and its getting worse every year.

We get so many guidelines and BS "categories" with sample questions and "qualities to assess" that nobody cares about.

If you want any shot at spotting a good guy/girl, you have to pretty much completely deviate from the HR script and ask real questions

Then if you like the candidate you fill bullshit on the form about the leadership qualities of the kid and how he embodies the values of the firm.

It's the same non-sense for the whole process. HR guidelines everywhere. We are hiring someone this year after the summer that i think is bad, has failed half the tasks i gave during the rotation, but "well it's a free hire because its grad program, plus you know doesn't hurt to have some diverse background"

The state of hiring is very sad. Good luck.

Thank you for that, very interesting to hear. I could sense in my 1st round that the trader couldn't care less about the behavioural questions so tried to angle it more towards my technical interests when I could, and based off what you've said, this is doing both me and him a favour, so I'll try to do it again in the 2nd round.

Hey, hope the interview went well; I recently did my 2nd round phone interview for MS S&T in London as well. Wondering if you or anyone else has heard back since the second round regarding the final round aka assessment center? I have not received any update and HR was unwilling to provide guidance.
