MXN/USD Trade Ideas

I am trying to develop a thesis to trade MXN/USD but I am completely lost on where to start. Obviously, a major event is the Mexican election which coincides with the US election this year, but what else is at play? How do I determine what proposed policies will move the pairing? Are there any significant events happening in September? How do I go about researching theses like this in general?
