Need S&T Recruiting Help

Hello everyone, I’m a sophomore at a large semi target school trying to break into s&t.

Background: I got rejected in last round for this club that has 100% placement for s&t, probably due to my lack of finance clubs freshman year and maybe gpa (3.6, but I have a legit excuse for that). I know my stuff about the markets, crushed all interviews but the pool of those last round kids was insane (I was an outlier on paper).

But I still want to pursue s&t so so badly because I honestly think I’d kill it no matter sales/trading/both. (Very competitive, social, good w numbers, passion for the grind of it).

Some possible help I could get: -My father was a trader back in the day so he knows some people -The prof of the club might still help me a bit we’ll see -lots of alumni from my school at banks

So with recruiting around the corner, I would greatly appreciate if someone can tell me what I should do to ultimately get a junior year s&t internship.

Start with anybody your father knows and then move to alumni in S&T nobody actually working in S&T cares about some club. You are just trying to get as many people on the phone as possible to learn about what they do and try to build a relationship.

I would also reach out to as many smaller firms as you can their recruiting is not as structured and often times they can find something for you even if they don’t have a structured program. It’s all about getting something on your resume that is relevant for when you are recruiting for your junior year internship/full time. I would also get the SIE and series 63 completed (I think you can do that without sponsorship) shows you are serious.
