New and curious
So basically, I'm a rising second year at a target, and I'm very curious about a career in sales and trading. I'm thinking of majoring in a physical science, most likely physics, and focusing on my quantitative skills to get myself ready for a career in finance. I'm posting here to request any information you guys may have on technical books and online resources I could use to familiarize myself. I've been reading "Digital Day Trader", a book I found in my library, but it seems very vague and inadequate. Also, I know that prop firm interviews incorporate brain teasers, so if you guys have any online sites that I can use to become sharper in this sense would be great. I'm open to all information, and I know this is one of the best sites to use for this type of inquiry. Thanks for your help.

Search the archives, there was a thread with a lot of example brain teasers asked by SIG, Jane St, etc.
I found some brainteasers over at Quantnet.

What majors are typically hired from these prop firms? mostly quant majors?
Thanks so much for the information guys. Also, I wanted to know if you all have information on free/cheap but good software that I could either demo or use. I understand there's something called Level II software; could someone like myslf get a hold of that? It obviously has to be real time and not late at all. I'm not ready to invest yet, but I want to try it out in a simulation mode. THANK YOU TRADERS.
Just getting access to Level II, regardless if you trade or not, will probably cost you.
